We have been communicating with the Department of Social Affairs under the Ministry of the Interior via correspondence recently about the Fifth-Term Taiwan Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons General Assembly and Election of Directors and Supervisors. Matters that are pending include the following:
- According to the Certificate of Elected Person-in-Charge of National and Regional and Civil Associations issued by the Ministry of the Interior, the tenure of fourth-term directors and supervisors of the Taiwan Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons is from Saturday, February 24, 2018 to Wednesday, February 23, 2022.
- We intend to hold the First Fifth-Term Taiwan Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons General Assembly and Election of Directors and Supervisors as well as the academic forum on Sunday, January 16, 2022. After the election of directors and supervisors, the Chairperson, standing directors, and standing supervisors will be elected before Sunday, January 30, 2022, that is, within two weeks.
III. Pursuant to the Civil Associations Act, we intend to hold the fourth meeting of fourth-term directors and supervisors on Sunday, October 17, 2021 and the Rules of Procedure for the First Fifth-Term Taiwan Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons General Assembly and Election of Directors and Supervisors as well as the agenda for the academic forum on that day will be decided during the meeting.
- As decided by directors and supervisors on Sunday, October 17, 2021, we intend to notify all members to pay membership fees on Monday, October 18, 2021 and that payments need to be completed within two weeks, that is, before Sunday, October 31, 2021.
- The fifth meeting of fourth-term directors and supervisors was held from Monday, November 1, 2021 through Tuesday, November 30, 2021 and the list of members was confirmed again. Meanwhile, registration for the election of directors and supervisors began. (It consisted of two stages: Directors and supervisors could sign up for the election from November 1 to November 15 and a meeting was convened from November 16 to November 30 to re-confirm the list of members and the list of director and supervisor candidates.)
- The roster of people with the right to vote and the list of candidates will be provided before Thursday, December 16, 2021 and, together with the meeting notice, they will be submitted to the Ministry of the Interior, with officials invited to appear and to provide guidance. On the same day, the agenda for the first fifth-term general assembly and symposium along with the list of candidates will be made known to the members.
VII. The list of the fifth-term Chairperson, standing directors, and standing supervisors will be provided to the Ministry of the Interior for reference after Monday, February 7, 2022 and handover between fourth- and fifth-term chairpersons will be completed before Wednesday, February 23, 2022.
